On August 27, 2023, Jake Kelly, a 49-year-old gay man from Phoenix, was severely beaten under mysterious circumstances. He died from his injuries on September 8. Months later, three would be arrested in connection with his murder including Angel Mullooly, Shannon Higgins-Young and Cory Young — a neo-Nazi skinhead.
